Breathe Your Way To Longer Lengths

Stress Sucks
We're all busy. We're all stretched thin. We're all running in fifth gear and the tank is on E. Too many studies to mention have linked stress to depression, weight gain, high blood pressure and even hair loss! Although I can't prevent you from over booking your schedule or from getting a flat tire that makes you late for all of you day's appointments, but I can give you one piece of tried and true advice: Take a deep breath. One of the most effective and simplest ways to manage stress is just to breathe. 

Better Breathing = Shed Buster
Most experts agree that it takes about 3 months before you'll notice less stress induced shedding. One ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Let's prevent your next stressed induced shed session with an "Eight Minutes to Change Your Fate" mindful breathing and meditation technique.

  1.  Set a timer for 8 minutes.
  2. Sit somewhere comfty.
  3. Inhale slowly for an eight count, hold, and then exhale slowly for an eight count.
  4. When the timer goes off, stop.
That's it. Likely, the first few times you try this technique your mind will try to do any and everything but relax. But like all the great treats of life--a little patience and persistance will elminate the brain wandering. Over time this brain exercise retrains your brain so that its less reactive to tension--thus stress proofing your life. Well, kinda, I'm sure that you'll still have an occasional freak out!
So the next time that you feel like you're about to lose it-- just breathe. Your hair will thank you!

    1. Its truly the simple things that make life sweet. I'm surprised that a month later---I'm still committed to mindful meditation. I can't be rid of my stressors in life, but I can retrain my brain to deal with them better.
